Mapping the natural environment

Since 2006, mapping of the natural environment has been a central activity at AquaBiota, both within research activities and assignments. We create maps for lakes, streams and marine environments that describe the distribution of species as well as biotopes and ecosystem services. We make maps of the physical environment which include for example bathymetry, sediment and wave exposure. And we also map effects of human activities like boat backwash, environmental pollution and eutrophication. In our mapping activities we use a variety of methods including field surveys, GIS scripting and statistical modelling or interpolation. Contact us concerning your mapping needs and we will help you!
