Vindval Fish

AquaBiota and the coastal marine lab of The Swedish Board of Fisheries worked jointly on modelling fish occurrence on two offshore banks on the Swedish west coast, Fladen and Lilla Middelgrund. The projekt was financed by the major national project Vindval. The background data came from sources including the major Swedish offshore bank survey, Utsjöbanksinventeringen, which was conducted 2003–2004.

In the first step, habitat building and sedentary algal and invertebrate species such as kelp, Dead men’s fingers and mussels were modelled. These models were then used for modelling fish distribution along the banks.
