SUBERB – Mapping conservation values in the Gulf of Bothnia

SUPERB was an Interreg IV project aiming to develop methods for mapping of biological values in shallow areas in the Gulf of Bothnia. The objective was to develop standardized methods for production of the decision support that is required for planning and management.

The project was steered by Forststyrelsen (Finland) and the County Administrative Board of Västerbotten (Sweden).

Reports:

  • Distribution of biotopes, habitats and biological values at Holmöarna and in the Kvarken Archipelago
  • Underwater biotopes and anthropogenic pressures in Holmöarna
SUPERB_SE570

Example map of biological values in Holmöarna, Sweden, based on the modelled distribution of phytobenthic biotopes, Natura 2000 habitats, occurrence of rare plants species and important habitats for fish.
