At AquaBiota, Felix works with assignments regarding, amongst other things; renewable energy, future mapping technology, and eDNA. Felix's work includes GIS processing, data collection and report writing. His tasks are to make accessibility studies, environmental impact assessments and public consultation documents, mainly intended for offshore wind power. Felix is experienced in field work and has considerable knowledge of fish tracking with acoustic telemetry, net-fishing, and the use of drop video cameras. He is also further trained in fish handling and fish tagging for research purposes, and has extensive experience in handling ships (qualifications for Deck Officer Class VIII).
Felix holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from 2017 at Stockholm University and is working on his master’s degree in Marine Biology, which is expected to be completed mid-2020. The thesis-project in his master’s program was carried out in the Gullmarsfjord, on the Swedish west coast, where 20 sea trout were tagged with transmitters and tracked using acoustic telemetry in a complex coastal landscape for 6 months. Felix's upcoming master's degree also includes courses in fish and fisheries biology, aquatic ecology, and management of aquatic resources in the tropics.
